A few important fact about blogs/ bloggers:

1. Compared to those who write a blog, many more actually visit blogs and are therefore infuenced by them. If I remember correctly,  the figure from a study in late 2004 said 11% of all those who visit the internet, visit blogs but only 2% maintain a blog of their own - this ratio would have likely changed now...

2. A lot of the mainstream media reads blogs and that trend is only gaining ground - so news from blogs finds place in MSM

3. Currently blog concent is dispersed, as more and more aggregators come into place, finding news and views on blogs is going to get easier and they will likely gain more influence.

4. Many who blog are journalists, so they will choose which medium favours what kind of news...

There are a few other thoughts, but maybe later..
