I did the similar excercise when I was builing Incredible India@60 blog (http://www.indiaat60.in/blog/). When I was setting it up, I downloaded the old version but just one day before the launch I installed 2.2.2 version and tried to test it on the server. I did not read the instructions as I did not have the time to do it, a mistake I know. But fortunately, I did not have any plugins so everything ran smooth and it was good but I do remember that I did not breathe for some time when the installation was happening..!
