Update Day
The last few weeks neither have gotten the time nor the inclination to update my PC and my wordpress, Not only that my notebook had an issue with the kernel that I use (tux-on-ice) which was conflicting with some other utilities and no matter what I did it would happily download all the updates but not apply them, today they had reached a humongous 350 MB so I decided to address the issue and fix it. As it turned out all I needed to do was reboot using the stock kernel, use “smart” to upgrade and then reboot again back with the tux-on-ice kernel and things were smooth.
That also inspired me to update the blog, its been running version 2.3.1 and though the fixes in the current version are not that many or critical, it just had to be done.
I used the “Maintenance Mode” plugin for the first time as well as the “Backup” plugin, I normally do the backup via a script but decided to give the plugin a shot as well. Both seem to have worked, in case you come across any broken pages do let me know!
Back to enjoying a lazy Sunday.
