One end of Ballaard pier is near the VT/CPO, the other end is at Kala Ghoda (Lion's gate, Kala Ghoda, Gateway of India, Colaba Causeway). And the Irani restaurants are special for their nonveg stuff. And Khari biskoot (daily fresh at one time, I don't know if that is still the case). Sadly, they are a disappearing breed. Ballaard pier is extreme South Mumbai.
